Battalion constable arrested for torturing daughter

Tura, Oct 15: A police constable serving in the 2nd MLP Battalion at Goeragre, near Tura, has been arrested for the physical and mental torture perpetrated on his daughter who had to be hospitalized with burn injuries.

The Tura Women Police Station received an FIR against Battalion constable Joshua G Momin accusing him of cruelty and grievous injury to his daughter at his residence in the Battalion headquarters in Goeragre.

On 14th of October he allegedly threw hot water on his daughter leading to severe burn injuries. She had to be hospitalised at Tura Civil Hospital due to the severity of the injuries.

During enquiry it was revealed that the father was habitual offender who subjected his daughter to physical and mental abuse man times in the past. He was placed under arrest on Tuesday.
