BSF foils sugar smuggling attempt at EKH border

Shillong, Nov 27: BSF Meghalaya intercepted four vehicles carrying large quantities of sugar intended for smuggling into Bangladesh near Shnongpdeng Tri-Junction in East Khasi Hills border on Tuesday.

The troops seized four trucks loaded with 15,000 kg of sugar worth over Rs 6 lakhs in the Dawki border. 

The seized sugar, along with the vehicles, were handed over to the Customs Office in Dawki for further investigation and legal action.
