Jowai, May 31: The Central Recruitment Board (CRB) Meghalaya Police has barred a candidate from East Jaintia Hills from future police recruitment for adopting unfair means during a written test for Driver Fireman conducted in various districts on Saturday.

Without disclosing the name, CRB chairman IGP Dalton P Marak said the candidate bearing Roll No 33032220 resorted to malpractice by using unfair means during the examination.

Terming the act as “condemnable and intolerable” in a Transparent Recruitment Process (TRP) adhered to by CRB, he said, “Viewing the matter seriously, this particular person is hereby debarred from future police recruitment irrespective of post(s)…”
However, the candidate can contend/appeal or file representation against the order before the appellate authority of CRB through SP East Jaintia Hills, who is the examination-in-charge of police examinations held within the district, the IGP said.
