These awards demonstrate the success of Meghalaya’s tourism initiatives, particularly the Cherry Blossom Festival, in promoting the state’s cultural heritage and natural beauty, tourism minister Paul Lyngdoh said on Friday.

These awards are tangible outcomes of the festivals organised by the state government, especially the Cherry Blossom Festival, he said.

This recognition is expected to boost Meghalaya’s tourism industry and attract more visitors to the state, he added.
