St Anthony’s honours state representative at Femina Miss India 2024

Shillong, Sep 3: Angelia N. Marwein, the face of Meghalaya at the Femina Miss India 2024 pageant was felicitated by St. Anthony’s College on Monday. Angelina is a postgraduate Political Science student of the college.

Faculty members, students and special guests gathered at the college campus to celebrate Angelia’s achievements and contributions to the society.

In his address, the principal of St. Anthony’s College praised Angelia’s journey from a dedicated student to a multifaceted professional. “Angelia has not only excelled academically but has also made significant strides in social work, particularly in advocating for women’s rights and gender equality. We are immensely proud that she will be representing Meghalaya in the prestigious Femina Miss India 2024 competition, and we are confident that she will make our state and our college proud.”

Angelia’s work on the Maitshaphrang Movement and her involvement with EARMACS, promoting rural development in the Khasi Hills and Meghalaya, were highlighted as commendable contributions to social progress.

Angelia’s modelling career, including collaborations with top brands and participation in renowned fashion events such as Delhi Times and Lulu Fashion Week, was also celebrated. Her recent title as Femina Miss India Meghalaya 2024 was recognised as a stepping stone towards her national-level competition.

In her address, Angelia expressed her gratitude to St. Anthony’s College for its unwavering support throughout her journey. “St. Anthony’s College has been my alma mater, and the values and experiences I gained here have been instrumental in shaping me into the person I am today. I am honoured to represent Meghalaya and carry the legacy of this institution with me as I compete in the Femina Miss India 2024 pageant.”

The winner of Femina Miss India 2024 will represent India at the 73rd edition of the Miss World pageant. The reigning Miss India, Nandini Gupta of Rajasthan, will crown her successor at the conclusion of the event.
