Itanagar, January 27 : The Itanagar-based 138th Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) secured first place at the state-level Republic Day parade held on Sunday at Indira Gandhi Park here, marking a hat-trick of consecutive wins for the unit.

The battalion’s contingent emerged on top among formations drawn from the Indian Reserve Battalion, Arunachal Pradesh Police, Sikkim Police and the Indo-Tibetan Border Police, officials said. The parade was part of celebrations marking India’s 77th Republic Day.
The award-winning contingent of the CRPF was commanded by Inspector (GD) Jaipal. Officials said the unit was adjudged best for its discipline, coordination and precision drill during the parade.

The achievement was attributed to sustained training standards and teamwork under the leadership of Commandant Rajendra Kumar, with support from Second-in-Command Mina Kumari Das and other officers of the battalion. The unit had also won the best parade trophies in 2023 and 2024.
Separately, Republic Day was celebrated at the battalion headquarters in Itanagar with participation from jawans and officers. A series of events, including a quiz, poetry recitation and a drawing competition for children, were organised on the eve of the national day as part of the celebrations.
