
Tura, April 17: As many as 75 specially challenged persons attended a special Disability Assessment Camp and Aadhar Enrolment Drive at Dadenggre in West Garo Hills on Thursday to avail access to government welfare schemes.
The Disability Assessment Camp, coupled with Aadhar, MHIS, and Aabha Card enrolment drives, was organised at the Dadenggre Community and Rural Development Block, by the District Social Welfare Office (Tura) and other line departments, with the aim to maximize enrolment and ensure beneficiaries avail the schemes.

District Social Welfare Officer Madonna T Sangma stated that approximately 75 persons with disabilities (PwDs) registered at the camp.
The registered PwDs included 26 individuals with locomotor disabilities, 17 with intellectual disabilities, 16 with ENT-related disabilities, and 16 with visual impairments.

Alongside disability certifications, the camp facilitated five Aadhar enrolments, 35 Aabha Card registrations, and 11 MHIS (Meghalaya Health Insurance Scheme) enrollment.
