Drug peddlers nabbed in Garo Hills

Tura, Oct 22: Garo Hills police have arrested a gang of drug peddlers and seized heroin during an anti narcotics operation in the Tikrikilla region of West Garo Hills district on Monday night.

Teams from the Anti Narcotics Task Force of West Garo Hills police under Raksamgre sub division conducted a vehicle checking in the Tikrikilla region and intercepted a green colored Ford car with four occupants. The vehicle was coming in from Assam side of the border.

From their possession, police recovered 81.22 grams of heroin that was being smuggled in for sale in West Garo Hills.

The four peddlers arrested by police have been identified as Ashanur Islam of Kharbanda, South Salmara Assam,  Shahinur Islam of Doyachar PO Pekamari, South Salmara Assam, Khuka Miah of Doyachar, South Salmara Assam, and Sujon Mondal of Kularchar Mankachar South Salmara Assam.
