Ex gratia paid for custodial death

Shillong, Feb 12: A compensation of ₹5 lakh was paid to the family of Wanlangki Dkhar, a juvenile who died in Shillong Civil Hospital on March 9, 2020.

The order for the compensation was issued by the Meghalaya Human Rights Commission (MHRC) on December 6 last year.

The state health department has informed the MHRC that the amount was paid to the deceased’s mother Modly Dkhar recently.
