Shillong, Feb 11: The state government has invited stakeholders and the public to virtually join a Pre-Budget Discussion for FY 2025-26 to be streamed LIVE on various social media platforms on Wednesday.
The first-of-its-kind discussion to be chaired by chief minister Conrad K Sangma and hosted by state Finance (Economic Affairs) department will provide an opportunity for constructive dialogue on the state’s fiscal policies and upcoming budgetary allocations.
The chief minister will present the state budget on March 5 while the budget session of the 11th Meghalaya Legislative Assembly will be held from February 28 to March 13.
“To ensure widespread participation, citizens are encouraged to join the discussion virtually via live stream and share their questions and suggestions through comments,” stated an official release.
As the state moves toward becoming a USD 10 billion economy, the discussion aims to engage citizens in shaping the financial plans of the state, it said.

The session will be broadcast live on Hello Meghalaya as well as on official Facebook pages of the chief minister and MyMeg Meghalaya.
