Shillong, May 12: The education department has written to the urban affairs department, seeking allotment of land to set up a Shillong campus of the Captain Williamson Sangma State University (CWSSU).
The department is waiting for allotment of land for the permanent campus even as it is in the process of identifying a temporary office for the Shillong campus.

“We were supposed to use the Bijini Complex at Laitumkhrah but NEHU has taken up the matter with the High Court challenging the ownership of the Bijini Complex. So, let the court decide the matter first,” education minister Rakkam A Sangma said on Monday.
Meanwhile, colleges that had sought affiliation with Captain Williamson Sangma State University, have started taking admissions, he said.
