Govt to decide on secondary school upgradation

Shillong, Aug 29: Education Minister Rakkam A Sangma on Wednesday said the government will take decision on the upgradation of secondary schools. 

“The government will take some time but will take a decision at the right time,” Sangma said while replying to a query raised by UDP legislator from Mairang Metbah Lyngdoh in the Assembly.

He also informed that the proposal of upgradation of Umthlong Nongthliew Government Secondary School to a higher secondary level is under process. 

“After conducting a thorough examination, the government will take a call on whether to introduce only arts, science or commerce stream,” he said.
