Gunotsav-2025: 3rd phase concludes, over 11.72 lakh students evaluated across 10 Assam districts

Guwahati, Feb 8: The 3rd phase of Gunotsav-2025 concluded on February 7, covering 11,72,401 students from 13,356 schools across 10 districts of Assam. The assessment, held from February 4-7, also included schools from Kokrajhar and Udalguri that were left out in the first phase.

The districts that were covered under the third phase are- Biswanath, Bongaigaon, Cachar, Darrang, Dibrugarh, Dima Hasao, Goalpara, Majuli, Morigaon and Nalbari.

The large-scale evaluation included students from classes I to IX in government and provincialized schools, along with institutions like Adarsha Vidyalayas, Tea Garden Model Schools, Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Avasiya Vidyalayas, and Tea Garden Management Schools.

A diverse team of External Evaluators, including IAS, IPS, IFS, ACS, APS, AFS, and other Grade-I & II officers, actively participated in the assessment. Ministers, MPs, MLAs, CEMs, and EMs also visited schools, engaging with students, teachers, parents, and community members to ensure a comprehensive evaluation process.

During 3rd phase of Gunotsav 2025, Education Minister Ranoj Pegu visited Narsing H.S. School; M.M. Balika Vidyaniketan High School; Naba Kumar M.E. School and Idris Ali Ansari M.E. School under Cachar district on February 6 and interacted with students, teachers, parents/guardians, community members etc.

Similarly, Panchat Minister Ranjeet Kumar Dass visited Boitamari H.S. School; Hindi Vidyalaya M.E. School and No. 445 Pachduar LP School under Bongaigaon district on February 6; PHE Minister Jayanta Malla Baruah visited Nalbari Abhyasan School and Gopalthan Polytechnical Institution School under Nalbari district on Fridayand interacted with students, teachers, parents/guardians, community members etc.

The assessment focused on scholastic skills such as reading, writing, and numeracy, along with co-scholastic aspects like community participation, infrastructure, school uniforms, and mobile app usage.

Conducted in three phases from January 6 to February 7, Gunotsav-2025 evaluated a total of 44,078 schools and 38,88,464 students across Assam, reinforcing the government’s commitment to improving educational standards.
