Shillong, Dec 13: ‘Ha Lyngkha Bneng – The Elysian Field’, a film by award-winning director Pradip Kurbah was screened at St Anthony’s College here on Friday.
The film, screened by Department of Tourism and Kurbah Films, explores the lives of six individuals in rural Meghalaya, delving into themes of longing, relationships, and identity.

Expressing gratitude for the audience’s response, Kurbah said, “Every person has their own way to look into the film. They have their own perspective. And I think it’s a great thing for me as a filmmaker.”
In his reaction after watching the film, former minister Paul Lyngdoh said, “It captures the essence of angst, of a society that lived on the verge of collapsing. Ultimately, it captures what is actually happening in contemporary Meghalaya.”
Noted actor Melvin Mukhim, who stars in the film, described it as “a reflection of identity, belonging, and the unseen worlds that shape our understanding of life, rooted in Khasi imagination and philosophy.”
