The Khasi Hills Autonomous District (KHADC), in its order on eligibility of electors as to who can elect the Sordar of Shnat Raid Tynring, under Khyrim Syiemship, had stated, “Election of the Sordar Shnat Raid Tynring shall be held as per the provision of section 19 of the KHAD (Nomination, Succession and Election of Syiem, Deputy Syiem, Lyngskor, Bakhraw, Sordar Shnat Raid, Longsan Mansan Shnat Raid, Rangboh Shnong or Sordar Shnong and Administration of Khyrim Syiemship) Act 2024.”

“The Syiem of Hima Khyrim shall consult with the Bakhraw of Raid Nongkrem pertaining with eligibility of the electors who can elect the Sordar of Shnat Raid Tynring,” it added.
The KHADC order issued by its chief S Rynjah on June 11 also asked the authorities concerned to submit a report in this regard within one month.
Before passing the order on the dispute, the executive committee (EC) of KHADC conducted hearing the parties at length, it said.
Meanwhile, on the request made on behalf of the petitioner Wordington Nongrum, the single bench headed by Justice HS Thangkhiew in its order said, “Accordingly, in view of this recent development, on the prayer of the parties, the matter is closed and disposed of.”
