Incentives for digital content creators, grassroots artistes 

Shillong, Mar 5: The state government has set aside Rs 35 crore in the budget 2025-26 to promote digital content creators and grassroots music in the state.

Underlining the provision, chief minister Conrad Sangma said, “The creative industries in Meghalaya are witnessing unprecedented transformation.”

He also mentioned that state owned OTT platform, Hello Meghalaya, offers financial incentives of up to ₹5 lakh per film and ₹18,000 per month for digital content creators.

Hello Meghalaya is providing platform for creators and dissemination in Khasi, Garo, Pnar and other local languages.

Informing that under Meghalaya Grassroot Music Programme, ₹18 crore has already been disbursed, he said through this programme the state will continue to promote local artistes.
