
Tura, April 12: The ‘Play On’ Inter-School Sports Meet hosted its track and field events on Friday at Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Tura.
Organized by Artsourced in collaboration with the Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs, the event aimed at identifying and nurturing young athletic talent by promoting sports at the school level.
Athletes from nine schools participated in competitions across six disciplines: Tug of War, High Jump, Long Jump, 100m Race, 400m Race, and Relay Race.

In the girls’ 100m race, Government Boys School secured the first position, with Sherwood School second, and Don Bosco School Rongkhon third. Sherwood School took the top spot in the boys’ category, followed by Christian Boys School in second, and Tura Public School in third.
The 400m boys’ race saw Government Boys School victorious, Sherwood School as runner-up, and Don Bosco School Rongkhon in third. Tura Public School led the girls’ category, with Government Boys School second, and St. Mary’s School third.
Montfort Centre for Education won the boys’ Relay Race, followed by Government Boys School and Tura Public School in second and third places, respectively. Don Bosco School Tura emerged first in the girls’ relay, with St. Mary’s School second and Government Boys School third.

In Long Jump, Sherwood School boys secured first place, with Montfort Centre for Education second, and Tura Public School third. Among the girls, Tura Public School was first, Government Boys School second, and Montfort Centre for Education third.
Tura Public School excelled in girls’ High Jump, while Montfort Centre for Education and Government Boys School secured second and third places, respectively. In the boys’ category, Tura Public School again led, followed by Sherwood School and Christian Boys School.
In the Tug of War event, Don Bosco School Tura clinched first place in the boys’ competition, with Sherwood School second. Montfort Centre for Education took first place in the girls’ category, while Government Boys Higher Secondary School secured second.
