Ranchi, Sep 7: The Jharkhand BJP will stage demonstrations at the district headquarters and gherao the offices of deputy commissioners and SPs across all 24 districts from Tuesday, demanding withdrawal of cases registered against students, a party official said.
State BJP president Aditya Sahu will lead the protest in Ranchi, while Leader of Opposition Babulal Marandi will lead the demonstration in Dumka, he said on Monday.
“All preparations have been completed for the four-day protest across 24 districts in phases from September 8 to 11 to press for our demands, including withdrawal of cases against students and a CBI probe into irregularities in recruitment examinations,” BJP general secretary Amar Bauri said in a statement.
At least six FIRs were lodged against more than 50 named and over 1,100 unnamed people following clashes between police and protesting job aspirants in Ranchi, Giridih and Hazaribag on August 23 during protest marches.
On September 8, party workers will stage demonstrations at the district headquarters of Ranchi, Dumka, Hazaribag, Jamshedpur, Giridih and Garhwa.
The protests will be held on September 9 in Koderma, Sahibganj, Bokaro, Palamu, Simdega and Chaibasa; on September 10 in Seraikela-Kharsawan, Pakur, Dhanbad, Gumla, Latehar and Chatra; and on September 11 in Ramgarh, Deoghar, Lohardaga, Khunti, Godda and Jamtara, the statement said.
Former chief ministers Raghubar Das and Madhu Koda will lead the protests in Hazaribag and Jamshedpur, respectively, while Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth will lead the demonstration in Garhwa, it added.

A BJP delegation led by Sahu met Chief Secretary Avinash Kumar on September 2 and sought withdrawal of cases registered against students at various police stations and a CBI inquiry into alleged irregularities in recruitment examinations.
The delegation also submitted a memorandum, giving the state government a 48-hour ultimatum to withdraw the cases, which ended on September 4. (PTI)
