KHADC polls: UDP panel recommends 4 candidates

Shillong, Dec 9: The district election committee of the United Democratic Party (UDP) has recommended names of four candidates, including one sitting MDC, for the upcoming elections to Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC).

The candidates are – MDC Mitchel Wankhar from Laban-Mawprem, former MDC James Ban Basaiawmoit from Mawkhar-Pynthorumkhrah, Auguster Jyrwa from Jaiaw, and Desmond KL Mawlong from Nongthymmai.

The list has been forwarded to UDP’s state election committee for its approval, said UDP Shillong City secretary Allantry F Dkhar on Sunday.
