Mahadev Khola Dham shops allowed to reopen

Shillong, Oct 17: Shops located at Mahadev Khola Dham, 101 Area Laban, Shillong are now allowed to be  reopened with immediate effect after the order of the district administration of East Khasi Hills. 

The order issued by the district magistrate on October 15, comes after a petition and memorandum were received from the general secretary of the Mahadev Khola Welfare & Trust, Homnath Gautam.

The order references a previous memo dated September 5, 2025, and notes that the government’s final decision on the matter is still pending. In the interim, the district magistrate has deemed it fit to allow the shops to reopen until further orders.

“Subsequent to this office order memo dated September 5, 2025 and in pursuance to the petition dated October 13, 2025 and memorandum dated October 13, 2025 received from general secretary of the Mahadev Khola Welfare & Trust Homnath Gautam and pending government’s order on the same, shops located at Mahadev Khola Dham, 101 Area Laban, Shillong are allowed to open with immediate effect until further orders,” the order stated.
