Man jumps to death from Umiam bridge; body retrieved

The deceased has been identified as Aiboklang Mynsong, a resident of Shiliangumdoh, Ri Bhoi district.

According to police sources, Mynsong is believed to have taken his own life, reportedly while suffering emotional distress linked to a long-term health condition. He had recently been discharged from the hospital after undergoing medical treatment.

Family members had searched for him after he left home earlier, but were unable to locate him. His body was later discovered in the Umiam reservoir, beneath the bridge.
