Manipur Police museum a tribute to dedication, sacrifices of police personnel: CM

Imphal, May 29: Manipur Chief Miniser Y Khemchand Singh on Friday said that the newly inaugurated police museum will stand as a tribute to the dedication, courage, and sacrifices of generations of police personnel.

In a social media post, Singh said, “It was a privilege to inaugurate the Manipur Police Museum today at the 1st Manipur Rifles Battalion Complex in the presence of the Director General of Police, Manipur, Rajiv Singh and other senior police officials.”

He also said, “The Museum preserves the rich legacy, evolution, and service of the Manipur Police through a remarkable collection of antique arms, historical uniforms, rare photographs, and archival documents” and “stands as a tribute to the dedication, courage, and sacrifices of generations of police personnel.”

Singh was also briefed by the DGP and Commanding Officer (CO), 1st Manipur Rifles, Khoisnam Sarma Devi, on the displayed antique weapons, which were used during the Second World War, old archived photographs of the Manipur Police and radio transceivers of very high frequency used by the Manipur Police in the late 1990s.

Later, Singh paid a visit to the Manipur Police Headquarters located at Mantripukhri and inaugurated a creche room located on the ground floor. (PTI)
