MCCL staff seek release of financial assistance

Shillong, Jan 20: The Mawmluh Cherra Cements Employees’ Union (MCCEU) has demanded for release of the financial assistance and the first installment of the special scheme proposed for employees by the end of this month.

The Union, in a letter to MCCL management, raised the demand while referring to a decision taken in a joint meeting between the management, local MLA of Sohra and Shella and the employees on December 16 last year.

First instalment of the special scheme proposed to MCCL employees was assured to be paid by the end of January this year, the Union stated in the letter issued after its meeting on Monday.

“If there is no positive response or steps taken to resolve our demand, further course of action will be taken with consultation with all employees,” the Union warned.
