Meghalaya gets NGH land for district admin set up

Shillong, Nov 26: The state government has approved the purchase of land for the administrative setup of North Garo Hills district, using funds allocated in 2016-17.

After chairing a cabinet meeting on Wednesday, Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma said the district administration had identified and purchased the land using Rs 5 crore allocated for land acquisition, which had been lying with the Deputy Commissioner since then.

“This is an old proposal, and we are now giving the approval to go ahead with the purchase,” Sangma said, adding that the land would be used for setting up administrative infrastructure in the district.
