A few of them appointed through a public-private initiative in Japan had an interaction with a visiting delegation led by health minister Dr M Ampareen Lyngdoh and secretary of Health & Family Welfare Ram Kumar.

During the interaction with nurses and director of Tsurumaki Onsen Hospital on Tuesday, the state team inquired about well-being of the nurses from Meghalaya.

Three nurses from Meghalaya have been employed at the hospital through a joint initiative of the state government and Navis Corporation.

Meanwhile, the delegation also visited Alive Healthcare Centre in Tokyo, a premium healthcare centre for the elderly, which expressed the desire to hire 10 nurses from Meghalaya. A job fair will be held in Shillong on September 17 to recruit these nurses.
