Mahendraganj MLA launches first Jetski in Garo Hills, aims to boost tourism
Tura, Aug 22: In a first for Garo Hills, Mahendraganj MLA Sanjay A. Sangma on Friday unveiled a Jetski Model Sea-Doo Spark launched the first-ever jetski in Garo Hills at his private pond in Boldamgre, Kalaichar.
The launch is seen as a step towards boosting tourism in the district. Marine jetski technician Johnson Victor from Navnit Marine Company, Mumbai, showcased his expertise on the watercraft, drawing enthusiastic cheers from the crowd.
Sangma himself took the jetski for a ride, joined later by District School Education Officer Emphul Ch. Marak, much to the delight of onlookers.
While the pond is still under development and the jetski will not be opened for commercial use immediately, the initiative is expected to pave the way for future watersports facilities in South West Garo Hills, offering locals and visitors a chance to experience adventure sports closer to home.
