Fire destroys shops in Chibinang

Tura, March 20: Three shops in the Chibinang area of West Garo Hills were destroyed in a fire caused by electrical short circuit late Thursday night.

Phulbari police were alerted about a fire breaking out at Kalipan Bazaar in the Chibinang area and a Fire and emergency services team was rushed to the area that managed to extinguish the fire before it spread to more shops in the vicinity. Police said that preliminary report indicated that the cause of fire was due to electric short circuit from one of the destroyed shops.
