Mondal visits relief camps at Dalu

Shillong, Oct 6: Power minister Abu Taher Mondal on Saturday visited the flood-hit areas and relief camps at Dalu and adjoining areas in West Garo Hills district.

He apprised the camp inmates of government efforts to speed up relief and rehabilitation measures to provide relief the affected people.

Informing that weather forecast indicated heavy to very heavy rainfall in next the 24 hours, he urged the people to be in safer place and follow the weather advisory.

All line departments have been instructed to take necessary action including supply of medicines and health care.

“Electricity is partially restored in Dalu area which will help mobile network and internet connectivity,” he said. 

The minister also visited Dalu CHC to take stock of the injured flood victims. He later had a review meeting with the DC, West Garo Hills and BDO, Dalu in Block Office.
