Tura, May 1: A two-day District-Level Inter-School Athletics Meet, jointly organised by the office of the District Sports Officer, West Garo Hills, and the Tura District Athletics Association, concluded on Wednesday at the Don Bosco Higher Secondary School ground despite repeated rain interruptions.

Twenty-five schools from across the district fielded teams in the under-18, under-16 and under-14 divisions for boys and girls. The meet was designed to foster grassroots interest in track and field and to identify promising athletes for upcoming state-level competitions. Events ranged from sprints and relays to long-distance races, jumps and throws.

Montfort Dilne Bolchugre emerged overall champion, while Rongram Higher Secondary School finished overall runner-up. St John Higher Secondary School was recognised as the best-disciplined contingent.
