National T10 league to blend cricket with values and discipline

New Delhi, Jan 17 : The Bharat Sanatan Premier League (SPL), a national-level cricket initiative, will be launched with the stated aim of promoting discipline, cultural values and social responsibility among India’s youth through sport.

The three-day T10 tournament will be held in Indore from March 13 to March 15, 2026. Sanatan Cricket Club LLP, the organisers have described the event as a National Pride Cricket Tournament, combining competitive cricket with a broader social message.

According to the organisers, the league seeks to strengthen young participants physically, mentally and spiritually, while encouraging teamwork, discipline and positive thinking. Cricket, they said, is being used as a medium to guide youth away from harmful habits and towards a healthy lifestyle.

The tournament will be held under the spiritual guidance of Devkinandan Thakur Ji Maharaj, the chief patron of the league. The presence of saints and spiritual leaders, organisers said, is intended to inspire players to adopt self-control and strong ethical values.

Eight teams from different states will take part in the inaugural edition, with each side named after prominent national heroes and historical figures to instil a sense of patriotism among players. The competition will feature 15 matches, including group-stage fixtures, semi-finals and the final, all to be played in a day-night format. A friendly match highlighting unity and sportsmanship will be held ahead of the final.

Player trials for SPL 2026 will begin on February 2 and will be conducted across eight cities, including Navi Mumbai, Kolkata, Chandigarh, Lucknow, Indore, Noida, Dehradun and Jaipur, to select players for the participating teams.

The winning team will receive prize money of Rs 31 lakh, while the runners-up will be awarded Rs 15 lakh. The Man of the Series will be presented with a car, and each Man of the Match will receive Rs 21,000.

Organisers said all funds received from sponsors and partners will be used for social welfare activities, including assistance to disaster-affected people, support for economically weaker families, acid attack survivors, underprivileged children’s education and those facing serious illnesses.

The league will also support national campaigns such as Fit India and Khelo India, with the organisers describing SPL as “not just a cricket tournament but a movement aimed at creating positive change.”
