‘Going slow, don’t want roof to fall down’

Shillong, Nov 27: Assembly Speaker Thomas A Sangma will review construction of the new Assembly building at Mawdiandiang on December 4.

Informing this on Wednesday, Sangma said the high powered committee headed by him would go for a site inspection to the under-construction Assembly building.

He said he had been monitoring project of the project on almost on a weekly basis.

“We don’t want the roof to fall down, that is why we are taking it slowly,” he said indicating the incident of collapse of the dome in the new assembly building that grabbed national headlines.

“There is a change of design, so we are making sure that nothing goes wrong in construction,” he added.
