Next assembly session at Mawdiangdiang, says Speaker

Shillong, Mar 3: Assembly Speaker Thomas A Sangma on Monday assured that work is under way in full force so that the next session can be held in the new Assembly building at Mawdiangdiang.

“I can assure you that we are trying our best and we will definitely have our next Assembly session there in the new building,” Sangma told reporters.

The Speaker also said that preparations are on to start the work for the interior of the main hall.

He however, said work on the covering of the dome is lagging behind as the ornamental crown, which has to be lifted up, weighs almost 2 metric tons.
