Guwahati, April 24: The OIL Pragyan Super 30 program has once again proven its impact, with 110 out of 120 students clearing the JEE Mains 2025. The successful candidates hail from four centres: Guwahati (25), Nagaon (28), Dibrugarh (28) in Assam, and Itanagar (29) in Arunachal Pradesh.
Launched in 2010 by Oil India Limited (OIL), the Super 30 initiative provides 11 months of fully free, residential coaching to high-performing students from economically weaker sections. The program prepares them for India’s most competitive entrance exams—JEE (Mains & Advanced) and NEET.
“The program currently runs JEE coaching at four centres—Guwahati, Nagaon, Dibrugarh, and Itanagar. A separate NEET coaching centre operates in Jorhat, Assam,” said Dr. Ankur Baruah, Director (Human Resource), OIL.
Since its inception, the initiative has helped 1,361 out of 1,482 students gain admission into premier institutions such as IITs, NITs, ISM Dhanbad, IISER, ISI, and others.
According to Krishna Murty Singh, Director (CSR), OIL, “Admission into the program is rigorous. It includes a written test and academic interview, with eligibility limited to students from families earning less than ₹4 lakh annually.”
Singh highlighted the broader mission behind the initiative: “Super 30 is designed to empower deserving students with not just academic coaching but mentorship, life skills, and a vision for a better future. Our faculty provides focused training in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology, while also building students’ problem-solving abilities and confidence.”
The program’s emphasis goes beyond academics—it nurtures discipline, leadership, and personal growth, helping students evolve into change agents in their communities.
To celebrate this year’s success, OIL held a felicitation ceremony at a city hotel in Guwahati on Thursday.
Senior officials including Jyoti Prakash Paramananda Das (Executive Director, PLS) and Ranjan Goswami (Executive Director, BD) were present. With each passing year, OIL Pragyan Super 30 continues to break barriers, opening the door to top-tier education for students who might otherwise be left behind.
