One sentenced to 4-year RI in POCSO case

Shillong, May 6: The court of Special Judge (POCSO) Swapna G Momin has convicted and sentenced one Noni Chakraborty to four years rigorous imprisonment for sexually assaulting a minor.

“Chakraborty is sentenced to undergo: RI for 4 years and to pay fine of Rs 3000, in default of fine, to undergo simple imprisonment for another one month for offence punishable under section 8 of POCSO Act,” said a statement issued by the East Khasi Hills SP Vivek Syiem on Monday.
