Over 2 kg ganja seized at Ward’s Lake

Shillong, Feb 6: A 25-year-old man was arrested after he was caught trying to sneak in a prohibited narcotic substance while entering Ward’s Lake in Shillong.

The accused has been identified as Henjakapa, a resident of Kolasib district in Mizoram.

Guards stationed at the premises recovered a bag containing suspected ganja from his possession.

Upon intercepting him, Ward’s Lake guards and staff immediately alerted the police. A team from the local police station reached the spot, took the accused into custody, and seized the contraband.

According to police, the recovered substance weighed approximately 2.479 kg. A case has been registered and further investigation is underway.
