Panel to ensure regular release of school salaries

Shillong, Feb 20: The state government has set up a dedicate committee at to ensure regular release of salaries to different kinds of schools in the state.

The committee set up at the level of Director of School Education & Literacy (DSEL) meets every month to review the release of salaries to the different schools.

Informing this the director of School Education & Literacy Swapnil Tembe said, “The government has released salary for government schools of all categories till the month of January.”

Admitting technical issues such as online system and change in DDO (drawing and disbursing officer), he said, “Some schools may not receive (salaries)… good part is that we are reviewing every month.”

For government-aided schools, Tembe said, the salaries are being released on a quarterly basis, the last being till December.

“For this present quarter, which is the last quarter, we are working out and this will be taken care of separately,” he added.
