Shillong, Sept 12: Two police personnel narrowly escaped a petrol bomb attack on Laban police station on Saturday morning.
CCTV footage caught two miscreants hurling the bombs over the fence around 2.30 am, setting a parked police Gypsy (ML-02-0196) on fire. The vehicle was partially damaged.
“Investigation is on to nab those involved,” East Khasi Hills SP Vivek Syiem said.
The attack comes amid heightened security deployment following recent incidents of tyre burning across the city with notes demanding a stop to random arrests of members of a particular organisation.
