PM Modi’s Assam visit on Feb 24: Grand cultural event & ₹3 lakh crore investment summit await

Guwahati, Feb 13: Assam is gearing up to welcome Prime Minister Narendra Modi on February 24, with an enthusiastic reception planned by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and a series of landmark events. Over 65 lakh BJP workers are ready to greet the Prime Minister, as the state prepares for a historic cultural celebration and a major investment summit.

In honour of PM Modi’s visit, the Assam BJP has organized a spectacular cultural event, “Jhumuir Binondini,” at Sarusajai Stadium. 8,000 artists from across the state will showcase the mesmerizing Jhumur dance, performed to the rhythmic beats of the ‘madal’ drum. This initiative aims to highlight the rich cultural heritage of Assam’s tea community and bring their artistic traditions to the global stage. The presence of PM Modi and Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma is expected to elevate the event’s significance, boosting the morale of the performers and filling the state with excitement.

Following the cultural event, PM Modi will inaugurate “Advantage Assam 2.0” on February 25 at Khanapara. This mega investment summit is designed to accelerate industrial activities, attract investments, and generate employment opportunities in Assam. With an expected investment of nearly ₹3 lakh crore, the summit is set to transform the state’s industrial landscape and position Assam as the investment hub of Southeast Asia.

To bolster investor confidence, CM Sarma has undertaken multiple foreign visits and roadshows, including a recent trip to Singapore, where he engaged with over 100 industrialists from sectors such as semiconductors, deep technology, infrastructure, and construction. These efforts aim to strengthen Assam’s economic potential and create vast employment opportunities for its youth.
