Police releases final traffic arrangement for Me’gong Festival

West Garo Hills Police has released the final route for traffic for the upcoming Me’gong
Festival 2025 scheduled to be held on 5th and 6th December 2025 at Bolbokgre

  • Watregre in Jengjal.
  1. Vehicular traffic in the vicinity of Jengjal and Bolbokgre – Watregre area will
    be regulated during the event days.

Unauthorized parking in non-designated areas will be subject to penalties as per
applicable Traffic Rules.

  1. No entry of Heavy Motor Vehicles (HMVs) and trucks will be permitted on NH-51
    between Anogre upto Tura area from 4th December 2025 (8:00 PM) till 06:00
    AM of 7th December 2025.
  2. Persons/individual intending to commute towards Guwahati and Shillong on
    the 5th and 6th December 2025 from South West Garo Hills District,
    Mankachar, Assam are requested to avoid taking Tura route and instead travel
    via AMPT route.
  3. Persons/individual intending to commute towards Guwahati and Shillong on
    5th and 6th December 2025 from Baghmara, South Garo Hills District are
    requested to travel via Siju, Rongjeng route.
  4. Persons/individual intending to commute towards Williamnagar, Guwahati and
    Shillong on 5th and 6th December 2025 from West Garo Hills District are
    requested to travel via Asanang, old Williamnagar route.
  5. Night buses, trucks, maxi cabs, etc., plying towards Guwahati or returning to
    Tura, are advised to take the route towards Tura from the Asanang, old
    Willlamnagar route during these days to avoid congestion.
  6. All are requested to maintain lane discipline and should avoid overtaking to
    ensure smooth flow of traffic.
  7. Roadside parking on routes leading to the venue Bolbokgre – Watregre from
    Jengjal tri-junction is strictly prohibited from 5th December 2025 (Morning)
    to 7th December 2025 (Morning).

However, Emergency Service vehicles will be allowed to ply and facilitated.

West Garo Hills Police Department is putting in place a dedicated team of
officers and traffic personnel to ensure the implementation of these traffic
