Tura, Dec 9: The State Level inauguration of Polio Booth for Sub National Immunisation Day (SNID) was launched at Matchakolgre Community Hall, Tura on 9th December, 2024. Most Reverend Jose Chirackal, Auxiliary Bishop of Tura graced the occasion as Chief Guest.
Delivering the keynote address, Nodal Officer, SNID B Mawlong urged all the parents to immunise their child between the ages 0-5 years during immunisation programmes and protect their child against polio diseases.
West Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner, Jagdish Chelani, Nodal Officer SNID Shillong, B Mawlong, Joint Director of Health Services, Garo Hills Division, S Boro, District Medical & Health Officer, West Garo Hills Dr. Jakrambal A Sangma, Senior Medical Officers of the District, parents and children of the area were present during the launching of Immunisation Day.
Earlier during the program, the Chief Guest and Deputy Commissioner, West Garo Hills administered oral Polio drops to children.
