Power consumers asked to settle dues by Dec 31

Shillong, Dec 12: The Meghalaya Power Distribution Corporation Limited (MePDCL) has extended its One-Time Settlement Scheme (OTS) 2025-26 to consumers in Distribution Franchisee areas, including Mawsynram, Phultan, and Nongalbibra, until December 31, 2025.

The scheme, initially notified on September 15, 2025, aims to provide an opportunity for consumers to settle outstanding dues.

The OTS will be applicable to bills generated till October 11, 2025, with all provisions remaining unchanged.

The Distribution Franchisee operators have been directed to publicise the scheme to ensure consumers are aware of the benefits.

The MePDCL will verify and settle outstanding amounts, and all payments collected under the scheme will be remitted to MePDCL.
