Preparations to observe All Souls Day

Tura, Nov 1: Families give finishing touches to the graves of their loved ones, giving a fresh coat of paint and clearing the surroundings, on the eve of All Souls Day at the Catholic Cemetery in Tura R C Road on Friday.

Special church services will take place across Garo Hills Catholic cemeteries on All Souls Day to remember the dead and pray for eternal rest of their souls. The graves will also be blessed with holy water by priests after conclusion of the church service.

Elaborate arrangements have been made for this annual holy ritual with service timings beginning from 9 AM in some cemeteries, while the oldest Catholic cemetery next to Bishop House Tura will offer Holy Mass at 2 O’clock in the afternoon.
