QR code for anonymous crime reporting launched in WJH

Jowai, Oct 7: West Jaintia Hills District Police has launched a QR code system to enable citizens to report illegal activities anonymously, making it easier and more confidential to share information.

A statement issued by the Superintendent of Police, West Jaintia Hills on Wednesday said the QR code will facilitate reporting of “any illegal or criminal activities, infiltration of illegal immigrants, police misconduct or other matters requiring the attention of the Police.”

Citizens have been urged to use the facility without fear of disclosure.

“Members of the public are requested to scan and utilise the QR Code to submit information or complaints anonymously. The identity of the informant will be treated with due confidentiality,” the SP said.

The police have sought public cooperation to maintain law and order.

“The cooperation of the general public is solicited in maintaining law and order and ensuring a safe and secure environment for all,” the SP added.
