Rain museum at Mawnsynram

Shillong, June 28: A rain museum will be built at Mawsynram with an estimated cost of Rs 35 crore, tourism minister Paul Lyngdoh said on Friday.

“Work on the rain museum is expected to begin post-monsoon, with tenders already floated,” he added.

An experiential resort will also be set up by the state government at Mawmluh, showcasing the Meghalayan Age, the geological age of the earth.

The project has already received sanctions, and tenders have been awarded, he said.

These projects demonstrate the government’s commitment to converting Meghalaya’s natural beauty into tangible experiences, rather than just theorizing about it, Lyngdoh said.
