Training programme on Mediation for Advocates and LACs held in Tura

Tura, Nov 28: Two Day Training Programme on Mediation titled “Increasing Access to Justice through Community Mediation” for the selected Advocates/ LACs under Department of Justice (DoJ) funded Project began at the Conference Hall, District and Sessions Court Complex, Tura from 28th November, 2024.

Registrar General, High Court of Meghalaya cum Member Secretary, MSLSA E Kharumnuid, Officer on Special Duty, Meghalaya SLSA T T M Sangma attended the program while Program Manager, DISHA, Department of Justice, Government of India, New Delhi Dr. Sneha Sharma, Joint Secretary (Access to Justice & Legal Aid to Poor, etc) Department of Justice, Ministry of Law and Justice, Government of India, New Delhi Niraj Kumar Gayagi, Secretary General/ OSD, Supreme Court of India and Member Secretary (Incharge) NALSA Bharat Parasha joined the program online.

In the technical session, Officer on Special Duty, Meghalaya SLSA T T M Sangma, MJS spoke on “Understanding Conflict, Concept, Comparison between litigation and ADR, Process, Stages, Role of mediators and training of mediators” while Chief Judicial Magistrate cum Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, East Garo Hills District, N M Momin, MJS explained in detail about “Communication, Negotiation, Impasse, Role of referral judges, Role of lawyers, Role of parties”.
