
Tura, April 5: The SSLC results of 2025 released by the Meghalaya Board of School Education (MBOSE) has displayed a positive and extraordinary leap forward for schools and its students in South West Garo Hills district.

The district recorded an impressive overall pass percentage of 74.77%, a stark contrast to its previous performances of 28% in 2024 and 26% in 2023.
This historic improvement underscores the tireless efforts of students, teachers, school administrators, and the State Government, who have collectively transformed the educational landscape of the region.
The district’s success story is further highlighted by several schools achieving a perfect 100% pass rate.
Standout institutions include Nogorpara Deficit Secondary School, Good Shepherd Secondary School in Chapahati, Boldamgre Deficit Secondary School, Jewel Secondary School in Mahendraganj, St. Francis De Sales Secondary School in Mellim, Katuli Deficit Secondary School, Vidyamoni Secondary School in Garobadha, and Rangsakona Deficit Higher Secondary School.


Individual brilliance also shone through in this year’s results.
Mahir Islam from Mahendraganj Higher Secondary School clinched the 5th position statewide with an outstanding score of 570 marks.
Meanwhile, Tengkim G. Sangma of St. Claret Secondary School in Ampati earned a perfect 100 in Health and Physical Education, securing a spot among the state’s top subject scorers.
Adding to the accolades, Amamy A. Sangma and Arbina Ch. Marak from St. Dominic Savio School in Garobadha achieved distinctions in all six subjects, showcasing the district’s rising academic prowess.
The remarkable turnaround in South West Garo Hills has sparked celebrations and given encouragement to many other young students who are also preparing for this crucial exam next year and beyond.
