Report on reservation policy to be tabled in assembly

Shillong, Jan 16: The state government has planned to table the report on the State Reservation Policy during the upcoming budget session of the state assembly proposed to be held from February 16 to 27, Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma said on Friday.

The chief minister’s announcement came following a cabinet meeting that discussed various aspects of the report of the expert committee.

“Based on that proposal, the cabinet has also decided that it will be most appropriate that we will be placing the report of the expert committee during the upcoming budget session,” he told reporters.

Meanwhile, the cabinet proposed the budget session’s schedule and sent for approval from the Governor.

“We have proposed to the Governor and we are waiting for the Governor to call the sitting of the Assembly for the budget session,” he added.
