Roadshow brings awareness on upcoming Livestock Census

Ampati, Sept 27: The Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Department in collaboration with Red FM Shillong, hosted a roadshow to create awareness on upcoming 21st Livestock Census, at Ampati on Thursday.

Hosted by popular RJ Zack from Red FM Shillong, the event captured the attention of local residents and traders, offering insights into the department’s key initiatives.

RJ Zack conducted interviews with experts, including Dr Bannie Balsrang M Sangma, Dr Dayana D Sangma, and Dr Makeda B Sangma, who discussed crucial diseases such as Rabies, Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD), Brucellosis, Classical Swine Fever, and Peste des Petits Ruminants (PPR).

In addition, rabies awareness pamphlets were distributed, ensuring key messages reached a broader audience. Adding glamour to the occasion were spirited dance performances by the Red FM team.

Additionally, officials took the opportunity to share important information regarding the upcoming 21st Livestock Census. They appealed to household owners and village heads to actively participate in the census, emphasizing its importance in shaping future policy and resource distribution for the region’s livestock sector.
