Rozgar Mela: 155 from Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh get appointment letters

Shillong, Jan 24: In a major recruitment drive for North East, appointment letters were distributed to 155 selected candidates from Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh during the 18th Pradhanmantri Rozgar Mela held at BSF Campus, Umpling, Shillong.

Held across the country, over 61,000 selected candidates in various central government departments received their appointment letters during the Rozgar Mela on Saturday.

In his address to the new recruits, BSF Meghalaya inspector general Om Prakash Upadhyay termed the Rozgar Mela a flagship initiative of the Central Government to accord highest priority to employment generation.

Congratulating the recruits, he said their roles in various departments carry great responsibility in safeguarding the nation and advancing its progress, and their service would inspire future generations to serve the country.

In his address, DIG Ratan Lal Bagaria said the Rozgar Mela reflects the Government of India’s sustained efforts to create meaningful employment opportunities and empower the youth.

Inspired by the vision of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the initiative aims to make youth a driving force of self-reliant India, he said.

He mentioned that since its launch in October 2022, Rozgar Mela has been organised across the country, providing thousands of young Indians with government jobs.

Of the 155 selected candidates from Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh, 76 candidates have been appointed in BSF, 42 in CRPF, 20 in ITBP, and 11 in Assam Rifles.

The programme also featured a virtual address by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who interacted with newly appointed recruits across the country.

He noted that many of the recruits would go on to strengthen the security of the nation, while others would contribute to nation-building through public service.
