Scholarship application date extended till Oct 31

Shillong, Sep 30: The Chief Minister’s Scholarship Scheme (CMSS) has witnessed overwhelming response from the students with over 50,000 applications registered within just one month of the launch of the scheme.

In view of the students’ response to CMSS 2025, the Education Department has clarified that students availing CMSS will continue to remain eligible for the Post-Matric ST Scholarship as well as any other Central or State scholarship schemes.

This clarification has been issued to reassure students and parents that applying for CMSS will not restrict or disqualify them from other benefits.

Meanwhile, taking into account the strong response from students, the government has extended the last date for submission of applications till 31 October 2025.

The government has urged all eligible students from Class XI up to PhD level, studying in recognised institutions within and outside Meghalaya, to make use of this opportunity and apply through the official Meghalaya One portal before the deadline.

The unprecedented response to CMSS reflects the popularity of the scheme and the importance it holds in supporting the higher education aspirations of the youth.
